The bass thumped through the floorboards of Hassan’s converted loft, purple and orange lights strobing across the crush of bodies in sequins and fake blood. Fiona slipped through the doorway like she owned the night, black vinyl corset laced so tight her breasts spilled soft and pale over the top, crimson lips already parted in a predatory smile. The vampire cape flared behind her as she scanned the room, fangs glinting whenever she laughed. Twenty-two and already legendary among the queer girls on campus for the way she could make a woman forget her own name with nothing but a look.
She spotted Roxanne near the punch bowl, half-hidden behind a cluster of witches and werewolves. The shy cat. Always the shy cat. Black lace bodysuit painted on every curve, tiny velvet ears perched in her dark curls, a fluffy tail pinned just above the swell of her ass. The bodysuit dipped low between her tits and rode high on her thighs, leaving long stretches of smooth skin that Fiona had spent three years of college pretending not to memorize. Roxanne clutched a plastic cup like a lifeline, green eyes wide and luminous under the makeup whiskers she’d drawn with careful strokes.
Fiona’s pulse kicked hard. Secret crush was too soft a phrase for the heat that always coiled low in her belly whenever Roxanne blushed or bit her lip during late-night study sessions. Tonight that heat felt sharper, hungrier.
She prowled closer, heels clicking. “There’s my favorite little kitten,” Fiona purred, voice low enough to cut through the music. “I was starting to think you’d bailed on me.”
Roxanne startled, then the familiar pink flooded her cheeks. “Fiona—hi. I almost did. This costume felt… a lot once I got here.” Her gaze flicked down Fiona’s body and lingered on the deep cleavage, the way the corset forced every breath into something deliberate and obscene. “You look dangerous.”
“Good.” Fiona stepped into her space, close enough that the tip of her cape brushed Roxanne’s bare thigh. “Dangerous is the point. You look edible. That tail is doing filthy things to my imagination.”
Roxanne’s laugh came out breathy. “You’re impossible. Three years of this banter and you still make me forget how to talk.”
“Then stop talking.” Fiona’s fingertip traced one painted whisker, slow. “I’ve missed the way you squirm when I get close.”
Before Roxanne could answer, Omar—dressed as a half-naked gladiator—bellowed across the loft. “Truth or dare, bitches! Circle up or admit you’re cowards!”
The crowd funneled toward the living-room rug. Fiona caught Roxanne’s wrist, thumb stroking the frantic pulse there, and tugged her into the ring of bodies. Someone dimmed the lights further; only the jack-o’-lanterns and a few strings of fairy lights remained, painting everything in gold and shadow. Bottles of cheap whiskey and glowing green shots made the rounds. Fiona took one without looking away from Roxanne’s mouth.
The game started tame—kiss a stranger, strip a sock, confess the last person you fantasized about. Then Hassan spun the bottle and it landed hard on Fiona.
“Dare,” she said immediately, voice velvet and steel. She wanted the dare. Needed it.
Hassan grinned, drunk and gleeful. “I dare you to give shy little Roxanne here the slowest, deepest French kiss this party has ever seen. No peck. Tongues. Full fucking minute. Make it filthy enough we all feel it.”
Silence cracked open. Roxanne’s breath hitched; her thighs pressed together under the lace. Fiona turned fully toward her, cape sliding off one shoulder.
“You good with that, kitten?” Fiona asked, soft enough only Roxanne could hear the real question underneath. Consent lived in the way she waited, eyes locked, body still.
Roxanne’s voice trembled but came clear. “Yes. God, yes. Do it.”
Fiona cupped Roxanne’s face with both hands, thumbs brushing the corners of those painted whiskers. She leaned in with agonizing slowness, letting every pair of eyes watch the gap close. Their lips met first as a brush, then a press, then a deliberate parting. Fiona’s tongue slid inside, hot and sure, tasting the sweet punch and the nervous heat of Roxanne’s mouth. Roxanne made a tiny broken sound and opened wider, tongue meeting hers with a hunger that shocked them both.
