The thunderstorm had turned O’Hare into a grounded mess of delayed boards and frustrated travelers. Emily stood at the window of the airport hotel lobby watching lightning crack across the black Chicago sky, her carry-on suitcase tilting against her calf. Twenty-eight, blonde hair still damp from the sprint through the rain, the thin blue sundress clinging to her hips and the modest swell of her breasts. Her flight home to Denver had been canceled outright. One night. Maybe two if the weather held.

She almost missed the deep voice behind her.

“Emily? Holy shit.”

Marcus looked exactly like the version of him she kept in the back of her mind during long marriages and longer nights alone. Thirty, broad-shouldered, dark skin gleaming under the lobby lights, the expensive charcoal shirt stretched across a chest that still belonged in a gym. College best friend. The one who had always been just a little too good-looking, a little too easy to laugh with, the one she had never touched.

They hugged. His arms swallowed her. She smelled rain and cologne and something warmer underneath.

“My flight’s dead too,” he said. “I already grabbed a suite. King bed, ridiculous shower. Split it with me. No point both of us bleeding money for matching shitty doubles.”

She should have said no. She was married. The ring sat cool on her finger. But the lobby was loud and the rain was biblical and the way his hand rested at the small of her back felt like an old promise finally coming due.

“Okay,” she heard herself say.

The suite was all dark wood and floor-to-ceiling glass. One massive bed dominated the room. Lightning strobed outside while Marcus tipped the bellhop and shed his jacket. Emily set her bag down and felt the dress ride higher on her thighs. She had packed for California sunshine, not this.

They ordered greasy Thai and a bottle of red. Sat cross-legged on the bed with cartons between them, shoes kicked off, the storm rattling the windows. Wine loosened everything. College stories tumbled out—parties, near-misses, the girl Marcus had fucked in the laundry room junior year, the boy Emily had blown behind the library who came in thirty seconds.

“You always talked a big game,” Marcus said, eyes dark over the rim of his glass. “But you never once looked at me like you meant it.”

Emily’s pulse jumped. She took another swallow of wine. “I looked. I just… couldn’t. You were huge. Everyone said so. I was terrified I’d never walk right again.”

He laughed, low. “And now?”

“Now I’ve been married six years to a man who is… proportionate. Sweet. Predictable.” She set the glass down. Her voice dropped. “I’ve thought about your cock since sophomore year, Marcus. Thick. Black. Stretching me open. I touch myself to it when he’s asleep.”

The air changed. Marcus’s gaze dragged down her body, lingering where the sundress had slipped off one pale shoulder, the strap hanging useless, the upper curve of her breast exposed.

“I’ve wanted to ruin that tight little white pussy since the night we met,” he said simply. “You sure?”

She answered by letting the other strap fall. The dress pooled at her waist. No bra. Pink nipples already tight. She crawled across the takeout containers until she was in his lap, and then his mouth was on hers—hungry, open, tasting of wine and want. His hands shoved the dress the rest of the way down. She fumbled his belt. The first brush of her palm against the thick ridge in his slacks made her moan into his tongue.
